The Beacon public playtest will go live from September 4 to September 7 on the Epic Games Store. With the new schedule now confirmed. Players can jump in starting Thursday, September 4 at 14:00 UTC, with the event ending on Sunday, September 7.

The public playtest offers a look at the upgraded game client, a revamped combat system, fresh enemies and power ups, new dungeon layouts, and time-limited challenges. The test is open to everyone with an Epic Games account. And users will need to link their account to The Beacon’s own platform to join in.
This version of the game includes all the updates rolled out during Phase 2 earlier this year. Those who missed that testing period will now have a chance to explore everything added since. Including improved gameplay systems and dungeon mechanics. Returning testers will also find new content, including dungeons and event rewards that are only available during this limited test.
Rewards for Joining The Beacon
Anyone who plays during the 4-day window will receive the Adventurer’s Backpack, a cosmetic item that is account-bound. There is also a second exclusive reward called the Seeker’s Mantle. This NFT can only be earned through partnerships with creators. And during special community game nights held within the playtest period.
More details on other event rewards are set to arrive by September 2. Including some secret bonuses the team has yet to fully reveal.
Leading up to the launch of Season 1 in early 2026, The Beacon will host several pre-season events. These will act as testing grounds for key systems and also allow players to earn rewards that carry over into Season 1.
This gives players who join now a chance to secure items. And progression bonuses that won’t be available again after launch. The rewards from these pre-season events are designed to give players a small advantage once the full game goes live.
What’s Next?
Once the public playtest ends on September 7, the team will host a tournament with prizes. And a yet-to-be-announced major partner. This event follows the same community-first approach as past events. And ties into the larger effort to test multiplayer and competitive features ahead of full launch.
Players who earned items from earlier events, like the Wings from Phase 1 or the Year of the Snake tournament. Will also receive those pending assets after the playtest concludes.
The upcoming public playtest is a key checkpoint in The Beacon’s development as it moves from short testing windows toward a live and evolving game world.
