Experience the New Highrise Map in The Machines Arena
Highrise is a new Detonation map now available in The Machines Arena for quick play and custom lobbies. The developers gave players the opportunity to decide whether it should be added to ranked games in the future. In addition to the new map, the latest update also adds new heroic quests for the P2A event, as well as various improvements.
The highlight of this update is the release of the new map, Highrise. Where players battle it out on top of the Metatech facility. Given the height of this structure, falling from it is deadly, and there are many gaps scattered throughout the map that you must avoid. In some cases, it’s possible that the map itself will be more dangerous than the opponents if you’re not careful. Therefore, it is better to watch your every step to avoid a foolish death.
For now, you can only play this map in Quick Play and Custom Lobbies. Whether it will be added to ranked play or not will depend on player feedback. So be sure to voice your opinion on the game’s official Discord server to help the studio decide on the competitive (or casual) future of this map.
What’s New in The Machines Arena?
If you liked the current P2A event in the game, then you will be glad to know that new heroic quests have appeared. Based on the patch notes, these new quests are larger and offer a significant amount of points. So you’ll probably want to complete them while you still can, in order to continue climbing the airdrop ladder, which now displays the top 6,000 players.
A number of improvements have also been made, various problems and bugs have been fixed. Specifically, in the Detonation game mode, the Nightcore clone will no longer attempt to pick up the fuse and follow the player, but will simply move along its own path. Regarding the matchmaking in general, penalties have now been established in the form of a temporary ban. This means that if you leave a match before it ends. You will be set on a timer that will prevent you from searching for a game for a certain amount of time. The more times you commit this violation, the longer the ban timer will be. Additionally, you will not receive P2A points for leaving the game or disconnecting during a match.
Changes to the Shop
Earlier this month, the developers also released an important announcement regarding skins. The team reported that they have decided that the main way to control asset liquidity from now on is to use the Stock Limit feature. What does it mean? Well, this means that each asset will now be available for purchase a certain number of times. And once it is completely exhausted, this asset will no longer be available for purchase.
Previously, the idea was to time-limit the purchase of NFTs, allowing players to purchase an unlimited amount of these assets. Until a predetermined date is reached when they are removed from the store.
One of the key reasons for making these changes is to ensure the long-term health of the market. The Machines Arena team noticed that during the old system usage. Players were more willing to buy rarer assets because they give you more P2A points. This meant that eventually there would actually be more rare and epic assets in circulation on the market rather than uncommon ones. Which would completely break the rarity system.
