Anichess is a chess game with its own twist, attempting to diversify the gameplay of chess. The game itself is not being developed by just anyone. Personalities such as five-time chess champion Magnus Carlsen, the website chess.com, and the highly reputable and well-known web3 company Animoca Brands have all decided to take on the game.
Very recently, the game developers completed the fundraising phase for their brainchild and can boast of raising $1.8 million. For a chess-scale game, this is quite a decent amount. It will be interesting to follow the project further and to rack our brains over their challenging puzzles.
