Ubisoft is set to release Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a competitive top-down multiplayer shooter, on December 18. Based on the Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the game immerses players in the dystopian world of Eden. Combining fast-paced gameplay with blockchain integration, the title marks a new milestone for Ubisoft and the web3 gaming space.

Ahead of the launch, Ubisoft rolled out the Niji Warrior NFT collection in collaboration with Magic Eden. The free mint of 10,000 AI-generated NFTs provides holders exclusive perks, such as in-game assets, governance rights, and rewards from Ubisoft franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell. Built on the Arbitrum blockchain, these NFTs evolve based on player performance and engagement, making them dynamic and unique to each user.

NFT holders will also play a significant role in shaping the game. Players can vote on critical elements like map designs, characters, and storylines through blockchain powered governance. Ubisoft aims to create a community-driven ecosystem where players influence the game’s development.

    Game Details

Captain Laserhawk integrates blockchain technology with a focus on accessibility. The game uses Sequence’s wallet solution, ensuring a smooth onboarding process for web3 novices and veterans alike. Ubisoft hopes to attract a broader audience to its ecosystem by simplifying blockchain mechanics, and bridging the gap between traditional and blockchain gaming.

“This project represents a new frontier in collaborative game development, where players become co-creators,” said Didier Genevois, technical director and executive producer at Ubisoft.

In Captain Laserhawk, players can expect frenetic battles within an arcade-style arena shooter. The game emphasizes community participation, allowing players to shape its evolution through their in-game actions and NFT interactions. As players engage more, their Niji Warrior NFTs grow in rarity and utility, further connecting gameplay with blockchain technology.

Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. is built on Arbitrum, a Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum. The blockchain’s Optimistic Rollup architecture ensures fast, low-cost transactions while maintaining Ethereum-level security. This enables the game to support its expansive multiplayer ecosystem and on-chain features without compromising performance or accessibility.
