Introduction
Splinterlands is a CCG on the Hive blockchain that began its journey under the name Steem Monsters in 2018. Later, the developers renamed the project Splinterlands, which represents it to this day.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Splinterlands is similar to Hearthstone Battlegrounds with its automatic battle system. Players build their decks with a choice of over 300 cards, each with their own characteristics and faction. Meanwhile, battles take place automatically with the help of AI.
Even though rand is an important factor in Splinterlands, it is harmoniously combined with strategy, and its factor can be reduced by creating a balanced deck.
NFT
In addition to being able to use their NFT cards to participate in battles, their owners can stake their cards to receive dividends, as well as rent out their NFTs, which can provide passive income.
NFT cards in Splinterlands have different grades from common to rare, and each of them has its own value. For example, gold copies of NFT cards, although they do not affect the gameplay, are an analogue of gold cards from Hearthstone, however, in addition to visual features, gold cards provide the opportunity to participate in special tournaments in which only gold cards can participate.
The future of Splinterlands
The project does not stand still and plans to add new mechanics, maps and lands. Currently the planned changes are as follows:
Conclusion
Splinterlands is a game that can appeal to many with its simple and fast gameplay. Despite the fact that the project was launched several years ago, it does not stand still and has a fairly large base of players who continue to believe in it.
