Shutdown Mongrel NFT Collection Features 1750 Unique Deadly Characters
Shutdown, a sci-fi gaming universe and top-down shooter, has unveiled the Mongrel NFT collection while doing a multi-phase mint after working on it this whole year.
The assortment includes 1750 bio-engineered supersoldiers, offering their owners unique advantages within the game. They were first introduced through an 3-minute video cinematic and overhead gameplay clips of these NFTs. The community had the opportunity to purchase a guaranteed mint by acquiring 10 Mongrel Modules. Which are used to craft a one-of-a-kind character.
According to the collection’s official OpenSea page, each NFT varies in four characteristics: arms, background, chest, and helmet. The rarity of these traits varies among the characters, with only one NFT possessing the Mongrel exo gauntlet arm trait, for instance.
The video reveal mentions that each NFT comes with “unique enhancements and specializations” that influence gameplay. And demonstrates the various combat abilities Mongrels can wield, which appear to be tied to their class.
The creation of 1750 NFTs occurred on June 4th on Polygon. It appears that 160 NFTs were set aside for partners and the treasury. Once the assured phase for those possessing the required Mongrel Modules ended, individuals could create their NFTs in a first-come, first-served manner. However, it was crucial to arrive promptly, as the mint sold out in just 10 minutes!
Just days after unveiling the mint, they officially released NFTs on June 7th. Accompanied by the announcement of 5 exclusive roles on Discord that award Alphabot raffle tickets to holders based on their NFT holdings. They also hinted at introducing an NFT staking rewards program in the near future. Promising exciting airdrops for those who own a few of these unique items.
This week, the creators have more in store than just the NFT staking program. As they’ve hinted at a “new airdrop surprise” and a “super cool in-game utility” on the horizon. Beyond these details, there’s not much known about the exclusive perks of owning this NFT yet. But it seems the studio will be slowly revealing more of the in-game features they’ve prepared for this collection.
