The Bornless: Web2 or still a Web3 project?
Recently, a game called The Bornless was announced. But what interesting things did the developers show and tell us?
First, it’s a first-person FPS shooter with horror elements, set in the not-so-distant 1960 on an island in the Lovecraft universe. In addition to being hunted by creatures from this universe, you also fight against an opposing faction for world domination.
Second, it’s not a typical “run and gun” shooter. The developers are creating it as a mix of PvPvE, where the main objective is to obtain a powerful amulet. At the start of the game, the player must choose one of two factions, which will battle each other throughout the game.
Third, the developers promise that the game will be indirectly connected to blockchain, but blockchain is not required to play. It will only be present on the website. What does this mean? In the game, you will be able to earn cosmetic items, which can then be sold on their marketplace. The game itself is fully developed on a traditional game engine without blockchain technologies, which could mean that it won’t be as “clunky” as other blockchain-based games. There are also rumors about a token, but for now, they are just rumors.
Fourth, the developers are selling their Genesis NFT collection, but the NFTs won’t be used in the game. So why are they needed? Who knows.
The game will be available on platforms like Steam and Epic Games Store. You can discuss the game in the official Discord server and already add it to your Steam wishlist.
